I love mythical creatures, that's why I listed 10 Most Popular Mythical Creatures, and did a research on it. Here's what I got.
1. Dragon
Who doesn't know bout dragons? Well, its a mythical beast, huge, winged, fire-breathing reptile that is often warm-blooded. Dragons may be symbols of evil, or the reverse, kindness also. Its popularity shines till now, as we can often see them on movies and games; 'Eragon', 'Harry Potter', 'Narnia'. Somehow, dragons may seem to be mythical, but some people do think that dragon really exists, even till now! Some think of them as a pre-historic animals, such as dinosaurs, but who knows! Maybe one day you'll find a dragon egg on your back yard!
2. Unicorn
The sweetest of all mythical creatures, I'm falling in love with unicorn. Unicorn is a mythical creature, with the body of a horse, and a spiral horn on its forehead. Its often symbolized as purity, also told that unicorn attracted to virgin maidens, and can only be tamed by them. Unicorns are adored by people from all over the globe (including me), especially children.
3. Pegasus
Another mythical creature in the form of white horse, Pegasus, different from Unicorn, has a wing and doesn't have a horn. It looks so mighty, differs from Unicorn, which looks kinda gentle. Also made popular by some movies, even one of Barbie's Movie: 'Barbie and the Magic of Pegasus', and many more. Guess I also want this one as a pet, wish its not just a myth!
4. Phoenix
A sacred fire bird, Phoenix. Its the symbol of immortality as said by some. They can live from 500 till 1461 years! And the cool part is that, when they died, they created another phoenix as they burnt themselves. A great movie where you can find Phoenix is; 'Harry Potter'. Its clearly seen how a Phoenix burnt itself, and formed a new one. Its also said that Phoenix can heal wounds. Amazing!
5. Fairy
When we talk about Fairies, we always think about winged male/female, pale, sweet look, tiny, have the ability to predict the future, and stuffs. Fairies, are also believed as the spirit of the dead. As we know it, Fairies seem to have some supernatural abilities. Something really caught me, its the similarities between Fairy and Pixie. Guess they look mostly the same, but fyi, Fairies are not always as we known now, the winged, tiny, angelic type. But once, before the 1800s, they were seen, or told, different, guess not as fancy as the Fairies nowadays.
6. Elf
Well, this remember 'Legolas', on the trilogy 'The Lord of the Rings'? Yep, he's an Elf. And remember Santa's helpers? They're Elfs too! Elf can be referred as someone, man or woman, who has such a great beauty more than human, and also powerful, and also can be referred as tiny human being, as I said, who help Santa Clause with the gifts packaging. So, which one of the two type of Elfs you like the most?
7. Centaur
Centaur, you can see it clearly on the first movie of 'Narnia'. Such a great and mighty human with the body of a horse. Really a good combination, well, human have brains, and also arms to fight, and the body of horse to run! It must be so beneficial for Centaur as warriors. Told that they're short-tempered, and also carried bows along with them.
8. Mermaid
Half woman/men, half fish. Mermaids are thought to be real too! Some facts know bout Mermaids, like, some of the Mermaids like to sing, or having a great seducing skills to attract men, and then eat them. Also told that they might be the cause of storms and shipwrecks. Somehow, its far from out perception as we watch Disney's 'Little Mermaid', the beautiful, gentle, and kind Ariel.
9. Kraken
"Release the Kraken!" Heard that line right? Kraken, the legendary gigantic sea monster, said to have dwelled off the coasts of Norway and Iceland. Told as giant squid, Kraken can grow to 13 metres (46 feet) in length, including the tentacles, and 330-490 feet wide. It can smash a whole ship with their tentacles which can grow up to 900 feet long and can weigh up to 400 tons. Remember 'Pirates of the Carribean'? or 'Clash of the Titans'? You can find Kraken there!
10. Vampire
'Vampire Diaries', 'Twilight Saga' and all, Vampire Fever's everywhere. But somehow, Vampires are known as blood-suckers, live in the dark, afraid of the sun (at least, they used to be known so). Nowadays, people portrait Vampires as a perfect, immortal being. So, how many of you wanna be Vampires, because of these amazing movies and serials?
Guess that's all for now, thanks for reading :)
